13.8 kV Dry-Type Transformer for Brazil

Dingxin Electric supplied a customized dry-type transformer for an electrical distribution project in Brazil.

The transformer was engineered according to the customer’s capacity, primary and secondary voltage, load characteristics and indoor installation environment. Its dry-type construction makes it suitable for applications where fire safety, low maintenance and installation close to the load are important.

Local Grid and Safety Considerations

Brazil uses a nominal frequency of 60 Hz, while medium- and low-voltage levels vary by state, utility and connection point. For example, Brazilian utility documentation includes 13.8 kV medium-voltage systems and 380/220 V low-voltage systems.
