1.4 kV,13.2 kV,34.5 kV and 44kV Compact Transformer Substation for Colombia

Dingxin Electric manufactured a compact transformer substation for a power distribution project in Colombia.

The solution combines voltage transformation, medium-voltage switching, low-voltage distribution, protection and metering within a compact enclosure. It was developed to reduce the installation footprint and limit on-site assembly work.

Local Grid and Safety Considerations

Colombia operates at 60 Hz. Recognized medium-voltage levels include 11.4 kV, 13.2 kV, 34.5 kV and 44 kV, while commonly identified low-voltage systems include 120/208 V and 120/240 V. The final configuration must match the serving utility and project connection point.

Electrical products and installations in Colombia are subject to RETIE requirements. The current RETIE information is maintained by Colombia’s Ministry of Mines and Energy. Product conformity, certification and project acceptance remain subject to the applicable RETIE process and local authority requirements.
